PROTECTING A
RURAL CHURCH
ArtGuard Security Systems understand that effective safeguards in a place of worship must be unobtrusive and discreet. The ArtGuard System offers a flexible, economic and instant security solution which requires no fixing, wiring or damage to the buildings superstructure or its parts. The ArtGuard System offers a practical, immediate deterrent and alert process that can combat theft, vandalism and unauthorised entry to forbidden areas of church property. Traditional church architecture and historic building material is ideal for the technological function of the special ArtGuard System.
IN THE CITY
Efficient, discreet security, fully alert during times of public access.
The church is one of the most visited of our traditional and historic buildings, and valuable treasures are often on public display. Other security devices require such displays and items to be permanently placed the ArtGuard System allows complete flexibility at all times with no limit to the locations where it might be used. ArtGuard does not demand sight-lines or infra-red beams. If required, the Tags may be easily relocated on a weekly basis, depending on church activities and functions.
The ArtGuard System is an ideal adjunct to any permanent alarm system that requires a building to be isolated and empty.
IN RURAL AREAS
The ArtGuard System comes into its own in rural areas where there are no extra funds for alarm systems of any sort. A church building does not even require an electrical supply to benefit from ArtGuard protection.
Building entry points may be discreetly tagged; singular items of value can be protected, as can private storage and other prohibited areas secured by the affixing of ArtGuard Transmitter Tags.
The Base Station can either be located inside the church itself or (subject to site tests) in a nearby, occupied building (eg. Rectory).
If the church is located in a rural area with no permanent clergyman on-site, the Base Station might be located with a warden living nearby (subject to site tests). Country areas, free from random and illegal radiophonic interference common to the city, tend to provide a superior environment for the ArtGuard System and the basic working range has been known to increase significantly.
INSTALLATION OPTIONS
ArtGuard suggests some installation ideas:
CHURCH ALARMED
System GSA2000 whereby the siren is located either in the body of the church or, externally, under the eaves of the roof. In the event of an alarm the immediate neighbourhood would be audibly alerted to the problem and the assailants would be fully aware of detection.
RECTORY NEARBY
System GSA2000 with additional System Base Station. System GSA2000 is positioned as in CHURCH ALARMED with the siren inside the church. The additional base station is located in the Rectory. In the event of an alarm the Rectory is alerted simultaneously to the siren sounding in the church building.
WARNING
The Police always advise against members of the public attempting to accost or detain criminals caught in the act. It is strongly recommended that the audible DETERRENT of the ArtGuard Series 3 is selected unless there are experienced security officers on site when a silent alarm option might be considered applicable.
ARTGUARD SECURITY SYSTEMS are recognised by leading insurers and in certain circumstances the installation of an ArtGuard System for the garden might have a beneficial effect on premiums.
